Over the past few years, the EU-funded EcoReFibre research project has developed innovative solutions for the recycling of wood fibre boards and the use of waste wood. The key project findings are now publicly available in a new series of publications.
The project partners – including the IHD (Institut für Holztechnologie Dresden) – have collaborated with InnovaWood to produce a series of ‘Results in Brief’ and ‘Project Innovation Factsheets’. These publications provide a concise overview of the technologies and research findings developed within the project across the entire value chain.
Topics covered include the collection and quantification of post-consumer fibreboard waste, the sorting and preparation of materials, the recovery of wood fibres and fine fractions, and the development of new products containing recycled content. Beyond that, concepts for the utilisation of by-products are presented.
To aid navigation, a guide has been produced which groups the individual publications by subject area and provides direct access to the documents on the EcoReFibre website and in the open-access repository Zenodo.
